PRESS RELEASE
By its criminal decision no. 1.776 from September 20th, 2012, the Bucharest Court of Appeal ruled the following:
The conviction of the defendant LOMIDZE LEVAN, Georgian citizen, associate and administrator of SC SARAY COMIMPEX SRL, to the punishment of 11 years imprisonment for having committed two offences of tax evasion, both through repeated acts and activities.
The court denied the defendant, during the execution of the punishment and for a period of 4 years after the execution of the punishment, the following rights: the right to be elected in public authorities or in public elective positions, the right to hold a position involving the exercise of the state authority and the right to hold a position or to exercise a profession or to carry out an activity of the same nature as the one the defendant used in order to commit the offence.
The court holds the defendant Lomidze Levan, jointly liable with the party bearing the civil responsibility SC SARAY COMIMPEX SRL to pay to the National Authority of Fiscal Administration – the General Direction of Public Finances of Ilfov County, the sum of 6,193,836 lei, and the accessories calculated at the date when the debit was entirely paid.
The court holds the defendant, jointly liable with the party bearing the civil responsibility, to pay the sum of 2000 lei as legal expenses to the state.
FINAL
The defendant was sent to trial by the prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate on June 7th, 2010 (press release no. 209/VIII/3 from June 8th, 2010).
